Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] launches on Thursday, October 8, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through the Microsoft Store, but digital pre-orders on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S unlock 48 hours early, which is why the PlayStation Store now lists the collection with an October 6 date. Square Enix is selling the full bundle for $74.99 on the US PlayStation Store, with each of the three parts also available on its own for $39.99.

It’s the first time the whole saga, from the original Kingdom Hearts through Kingdom Hearts III and its Re Mind expansion, has been packaged natively for current-generation consoles. Switch players in particular have been stuck with cloud streaming versions since 2022, and this release finally gives them games that run on the hardware itself.

What you actually get in the Kingdom Hearts Collection

The collection brings together three existing compilations. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX covers the early games, including Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Birth by Sleep. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue adds Dream Drop Distance and the bridging chapter 0.2, while Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind closes out the main story. Square Enix says the HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX portion has received texture updates for this release.

Each platform gets its own bonus Keyblade, so the cosmetic you receive depends on where you buy. PS5 buyers get “Midnight Blue”, Xbox buyers get “Phantom Green”, and Switch 2 buyers get “Long Night”. If you’re on Switch 2 and not sure the series is for you, a free Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind demo is already on the eShop, and progress from it carries over to the full game.

Owned Kingdom Hearts on PS4 or Xbox One? Don’t pay full price

Square Enix is offering a 50% discount on the new digital versions to players who already own the games digitally on PS4, Xbox One or as Nintendo Switch cloud versions. The discount applies to digital pre-orders and to digital purchases after launch, so there’s no rush to buy before October 8 just to keep the saving. Save data, however, doesn’t follow you across most platforms. Only Switch cloud owners can carry saves over to Switch 2, which means PS4 and Xbox One players start fresh on the new versions.

Check which account the old purchase sits on before you pay. If you bought the PS4 versions on a US or UK PlayStation account, the discount will show on that same account, not on a new one you create for the PS5 version. The PlayStation Store listing doesn’t spell out how the reduced price appears, so look at the price on the product page before you confirm the order.

Physical copies still need a download, so plan your data

Boxed copies are only coming to PS5 and Switch 2, and Square Enix’s own store notes that the physical version needs an internet connection and an additional data download to play. Square Enix hasn’t published the full download size yet, but you’re getting more than half a dozen games in one package, so it’s sensible to download over a home or office broadband line rather than a mobile bundle. Our guide to getting a steadier connection on MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 covers the network side if mobile data is all you have.

There’s no official naira price, since the collection is sold in dollars on the PlayStation and Xbox stores that Nigerian players typically use. You can pre-order through Square Enix’s official store for physical copies, although Square Enix says international deliveries may not arrive by launch day. Kingdom Hearts lands in an already crowded month, which you can see in our October 2026 game releases roundup, and PS5 owners will want to keep an eye on whether the collection picks up support for Sony’s new QSSR upscaling, which Square Enix hasn’t announced.
