Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches on Tuesday, October 6, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, bringing podracing back to a major Star Wars game for the first time in years. The standard edition is listed at $59.99 on PC, with a $79.99 Deluxe Edition, and the game needs an RTX 2060-class graphics card and 50GB of SSD space at minimum.
It’s developed by Fuse Games, a studio founded by former Criterion Games developers who worked on the Burnout and Need for Speed series, and published by Secret Mode. The game was first revealed at The Game Awards 2025, and a story trailer followed at Summer Game Fest in June.

Sebulba, skimspeeders and a racing league built on revenge
The game is set in the Outer Rim after the fall of the Empire, where players take on the role of Shade, a racer chasing glory and revenge in the Galactic League, an unsanctioned circuit run by corrupt champion Kestar Bool. According to the official story trailer reveal, Shade is guided by Sebulba, the podracer Anakin Skywalker beat in The Phantom Menace, and works with a mechanic named Hibi. The official tagline sums up the tone as “No Force. No prophecy. Just skill, strategy, and the will to rise.”
Four classes of repulsorcraft are playable, covering podracers, landspeeders, speeder bikes and the skimspeeder, a vehicle type the game introduces to Star Wars. Campaign, Scenario and Arcade modes are all included, and the campaign is built around runs, so a crash ends a tour and sends players back to rebuild with some perks kept. Between races, players upgrade their vehicles in paddock workshops with parts that boost different stats. Competitive multiplayer is also part of the package, and the PC store listing says it supports online PvP and cross-platform play.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer PC requirements favour RTX laptops
Only minimum PC specs have been published so far. They call for an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 12GB of RAM and an Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT with 6GB of video memory. That rules out the GTX 1650 and GTX 1660 laptops that remain common in Nigeria, and the 12GB memory floor means an 8GB machine won’t qualify either.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 | Not confirmed |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Not confirmed |
| Memory | 12GB | Not confirmed |
| Graphics | Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB | Not confirmed |
| Storage | 50GB SSD | Not confirmed |
An SSD is compulsory, so players with a hard drive as a second disk should install the game on their main SSD. Full voice acting is in English only, although the interface supports 13 other languages.
What the launch means for players in Nigeria
No naira price has been officially listed yet, so Nigerian buyers paying with local cards should expect the dollar price plus their bank’s exchange rate and any card charges. The Deluxe Edition adds three exclusive vehicles, a unique livery, three arcade events, a banner and a digital art book, and all pre-orders come with an exclusive repulsorcraft livery and a multiplayer banner.
The 50GB install is the bigger practical hurdle on Nigerian data, and the console downloads are likely to be in a similar range. Spreading the download over cheaper night plans makes sense, and anyone planning to race online should look at our guide to lowering gaming ping on MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2, since latency matters in a racing game. Galactic Racer lands on the same day as Gears of War: E-Day, part of a crowded month we outlined in our October 2026 game releases roundup.
