There is no official Lagos Life APK, Play Store app or App Store app, because Lagos Life is a browser game that runs only at lagoslife.app and its second official address, lagoslife.eliysites.com, according to the game’s own Terms of Use. Any file, link or “mod” promising a downloadable version, unlimited game naira or a way to cash out your in-game wealth is not from the developer, and installing or paying for one puts your phone, your account and your money at risk.
The game launched on 1 October 2026, and within a week the developer’s own posted dashboard was showing more than 1.8 million players. That kind of growth always attracts copycats, so this guide shows you exactly how to reach the real game, how to get an app icon on your phone without downloading anything, which offers to ignore, and what the official rules say about buying and selling game naira. If you’ve already installed something suspicious, the steps near the end will help you clean up.
The only two places you can play the real Lagos Life
Lagos Life is created and operated by Nigerian developer Shalom Rayhamen, and the Terms name exactly two official addresses for the game, which are lagoslife.app and lagoslife.eliysites.com. Both load the same shared city, which now includes Abuja and Port Harcourt, so it doesn’t matter which one you use. You open either address in Chrome, Safari or any modern browser on your phone or computer, sign up with a username, password and email, and play from there.
Because the game went viral so quickly, a lot of other websites now use “Lagos Life” in their names, often with endings like .org, .xyz, .site or .com in place of .app. Many of them are fan guides and wikis that link back to the real game, and that’s fine for reading tips. The rule that keeps you safe is simple, though. Only type your Lagos Life password on lagoslife.app or lagoslife.eliysites.com, and close any page that asks you to log in anywhere else.
Check the address bar every time you arrive from a link on X, TikTok, Facebook or WhatsApp. A look-alike can copy the game’s colours and logo perfectly, but it can’t use the real address, so the web address is the one detail you can always trust.
Get a Lagos Life app icon on your phone without downloading anything
Most people searching for a Lagos Life APK really just want the game on their home screen so they don’t have to type the address each time. You can do that safely, because the official site is set up to work as a web app, which means your browser can save it as an icon that opens the game in full screen.
On an Android phone, open lagoslife.app in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu at the top right, then tap Add to home screen or Install app, depending on your Chrome version. On an iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap the Share button, then tap Add to Home Screen. The icon you get this way is the real game, it takes up almost no storage, and it never asks you to allow installs from unknown sources.
This also works well on budget Tecno, Infinix and itel phones, since you’re not installing a heavy app, and our guide to playing Lagos Life on your phone covers data use and loading fixes. If the game feels slow on mobile data, our guide on lowering lag on MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 covers the network settings that help browser games too.
Why a “Lagos Life APK” is the download you should never install
An APK is an Android app file installed from outside the Play Store, and because Lagos Life has no official app, every APK carrying its name was built by someone other than the developer. At best, it’s a wrapper that opens the website and shows extra ads. At worst, it’s malware that reads your SMS messages, captures banking OTPs or steals passwords you type into other apps.
Android protects you here as long as you let it. Keep Install unknown apps switched off for your browser, WhatsApp and file manager, which you’ll usually find under Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps. On many Tecno and Infinix phones the path is Settings > Security > Install unknown apps, and if your menu is different, search for “unknown apps” inside Settings. Leave Google Play Protect on as well, so it can warn you if a harmful file slips through.
Be equally careful with “mod” versions that promise unlimited game naira, free houses or instant promotion. Lagos Life is an online game that stores your balance on its own servers, so a file on your phone can’t change your account, and the Terms ban bots, scripts and unauthorized software anyway. Those mods either do nothing or exist to harvest your login.
Game naira can’t be cashed out, so anyone promising withdrawals is lying
The in-game currency uses the word “naira” and the ₦ sign, but the Terms are very clear that it isn’t real money. They state that Game Naira cannot be withdrawn into a bank account and that a balance such as ₦1,000,000 in the game doesn’t mean Lagos Life owes you one million real naira. It isn’t legal tender, isn’t eNaira and has no exchange rate against the real currency.
That makes any “Lagos Life withdrawal”, “cash-out agent” or “double your game naira” offer a scam by definition. You’ll see people in chats and on social media claiming they can turn your in-game fortune into real money for a small fee, or that sending them game naira will earn you a bigger return. Neither is possible through the official game, and the fee you pay is simply gone.
If someone promotes a crypto coin or token carrying the Lagos Life name, treat it as unofficial too. The official Terms describe Game Naira as a fictional unit used only for gameplay and say nothing about a tradeable token, and the game’s banking, investment and trading features are described as game mechanics only. Our explainer on how Lagos Life game naira really works covers top-ups, refunds and the economy resets in more detail.
Buying game naira from other players can cost you your account
You can legitimately buy game naira with real money, but only through the game’s own wallet top-up. The Terms say payments are currently processed through Flutterwave, and that payments made before 6 October 2026 went through Bachs. If you pay inside the game and the naira doesn’t arrive, the Terms allow a refund to be considered once the payment and the failed delivery can be checked against the payment provider’s records.
Paying a stranger by bank transfer or POS for “cheaper” game naira is a different story. The Terms ban selling Game Naira for real money, running unofficial exchanges and brokering game naira for cash, and they allow the developer to reverse balances and suspend accounts involved in fraud or rule-breaking. So even when a seller does deliver, the naira can be taken back and your account can be restricted, with no way to recover the real money you sent.
The same goes for buying or selling accounts. A “rich” Lagos Life account with houses and businesses might look like a bargain, but the Terms prohibit selling, renting or sharing accounts without written permission. The game also uses device fingerprinting to spot fraud and account farming, so a bought account can be flagged and closed.
Brands inside the city don’t mean those brands are running promos
One reason Lagos Life feels so real is that it’s full of recognisable places and names, from Amala Shitta and Quilox to banks, hospitals and government offices. The Terms explain that a brand or institution appearing in the game doesn’t mean it sponsors or endorses Lagos Life unless the game clearly labels it as an Official Partner, Sponsor or Advertiser.
Keep that in mind if you see a message about a “bank Lagos Life giveaway” or a “government Lagos Life grant”. Scammers often borrow trusted names to make a fake promo look official, and no real bank or agency is going to ask for your BVN, card details or OTP through a game. Ignore those messages and don’t click their links.
Lagos Life is 18+, so treat its chats like any public chat
The game is cartoon-styled, but the Terms state that it’s only for people aged 18 or older, and accounts can be suspended where a player is believed to be under 18. That rule exists because you’re sharing the city with real people through venue chats, direct messages and profiles.
Don’t share your phone number, home address, bank details or real-world location with players you’ve just met, however friendly the chat feels. The Terms ban harassment, impersonation, fraud and sharing other people’s private information, and the developer can remove content and suspend accounts that break those rules. If a parent or younger sibling wants to play, the official answer is that they shouldn’t be on it until they’re 18.

Already installed a fake Lagos Life app? Do this now
Uninstall it straight away by opening Settings > Apps, finding the app and tapping Uninstall. If it won’t uninstall, check Settings > Security > Device admin apps (sometimes listed as Device admin apps under Special app access), switch it off there, then try again. Run a scan with Google Play Protect from the Play Store’s profile menu afterwards.
Next, change your Lagos Life password on lagoslife.app, plus the password of any other account where you used the same one, starting with your email. If you entered card details or an OTP anywhere suspicious, call your bank immediately and ask them to block the card, because acting within minutes gives you the best chance of stopping a transaction. For problems with your game account itself, the official support address listed in the Terms is support@lagoslife.app.
Enjoy the hype without paying for it
Lagos Life is one of the most exciting things to come out of Nigeria’s game scene this year, and it joins a growing list of games built by Nigerians that deserve more attention. The safest way to enjoy it is to play only at lagoslife.app or lagoslife.eliysites.com, save it to your home screen instead of hunting for an APK, buy game naira only through the in-game wallet if you buy at all, and ignore anyone promising real money out of a fictional economy.
Since the game is still in active development, features, prices and payment providers can change, so check the official Terms before you pay for anything. Your city, your hustle and your Quilox nights all live on the developer’s servers, and keeping your login on the official site is what keeps them yours.
