God of War Laufey pre-orders open on Tuesday, September 29, at 10am local time, and Sony has now confirmed what each edition includes ahead of the game’s February 16, 2027 launch on PlayStation 5. The details came from Santa Monica Studio’s communications director Grace Orlady on the PlayStation Blog, alongside a first proper look at how Faye fights with her new Serpent Bow.
What Sony didn’t share is the price. Neither the Standard Edition nor the Digital Deluxe Edition had a confirmed price at the time of the announcement, so anyone planning to pre-order from Nigeria will only see the final figure when the listings go live in their account’s store region.

Every God of War Laufey pre-order gets the same bonus pack
Sony is keeping the pre-order incentive simple. Whichever edition a player picks, pre-ordering adds the Last Wish Armor Set for Faye, a cosmetic called Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance and an in-game resource pack. The Standard Edition will be sold both digitally and on disc, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is a download only.
The Deluxe extras are mostly cosmetic and convenience items. The Dark Alchemy set covers Faye’s armour, blade, bow scales and a Catalyst, and it comes with another in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official soundtrack. None of it changes the core story, so the choice really comes down to how much the add-ons are worth to each player once the price is known.
Faye’s Serpent Bow changes how this God of War plays
Laufey puts Faye in the lead role, and Sony used the pre-order post to show off her main weapon. The Serpent Bow has two ways to fire, with Santa Monica Studio explaining that players can “unleash a volley of arrows quickly” from the hip or hold the aim trigger for a single precision shot. Arrow types can be swapped, and interchangeable Bow Scales add perks that shift her playstyle, while Catalysts act as another layer of customisation. That’s a notable shift for a series that has spent two games built around Kratos’s close-range axe and blades.
The game was revealed in June and is a PS5 release. Sony hasn’t said anything about a PC version, and given that earlier God of War games reached PC well after their console debuts, Nigerian players who game on laptops and desktops shouldn’t expect an answer on that front for some time.
How Nigerian players can pre-order God of War Laufey
There’s no Nigerian PlayStation Store region, so most PS5 owners here will pre-order through a UK, US or other foreign account funded with gift cards. That means the naira cost will depend on the region’s price, the exchange rate on the day and the margin of whoever sells the gift card, which is the same situation we explained in our guide to buying GTA 6 in Nigeria. Pre-ordering the digital version also means the bonus items land on that specific account, so it’s worth settling on the account you’ll keep before you pay.
Players who prefer the disc should know that the physical Standard Edition is confirmed, but local shops usually stock imported copies, so it’s sensible to confirm the region and whether the pre-order bonus code is included before handing over money. With consoles already expensive locally, as our PS4 and PS5 price guide for Nigeria shows, anyone still on a PS4 also has until February to plan the upgrade, since Laufey is a PS5 game. The practical move for now is to watch for the price when pre-orders go live on Tuesday and decide between the two editions once Sony puts a number on them.
