“Phantom Blade Zero” unlocks at 02:00 UTC on Thursday, October 29, 2026, according to its PlayStation Store listing, which is 3am in Nigeria, after S-GAME opened preloading on PS5 and PC on October 26. Steam shows the PC release as October 28, which is still the US date when 02:00 UTC arrives, and lists the standard edition at $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. For many Nigerian PC players the bigger hurdle is drive space rather than price, because S-GAME says the game is about 145GB and has asked PC players to keep far more than that free while the preload is on their machine.

S-GAME Studio built the game in Unreal Engine 5, and its Steam page lists English with full voice acting, interface text and subtitles. If you’re downloading on a home router or a phone hotspot, a file that size can take days on a slow connection and eat through even a large data bundle, so starting now gives you a chance to play on launch morning rather than at the weekend.

Why a 145GB game wants 300GB of your SSD

S-GAME’s official account told PC players to install the game on an SSD and said the game is approximately 145GB. Its preload guidance, as reported from the studio’s own posts, asks you to keep at least 300GB free on the drive. S-GAME tied that figure to the way pre-downloading works without explaining the mechanism further, but in practice a 512GB laptop SSD that already holds Windows, a couple of other big games and your files probably won’t have room until you clear something out.

Check the free space before you start rather than halfway through a download you’ve already paid data for. On Windows, open Settings > System > Storage to see what’s taking up each drive, and uninstall a game you’ve finished instead of deleting random files. Steam lets you pick which drive the game goes to when you buy it, so if you have a second SSD with more room, point the install there. A hard disk won’t do, because both of S-GAME’s spec tiers say an SSD is required.

A GTX 1660 gets you in, but only with upscaling on

The minimum spec is kinder than the file size, since a GeForce GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT is enough for S-GAME’s 1080p, 30fps target, which covers a lot of the used gaming PCs and older laptops still in Nigerian homes and gaming centres. Both tiers ask for 16GB of RAM, though, so an 8GB machine is below the line no matter how good its graphics card is. Those frame rates also assume upscaling is switched on, and S-GAME’s notes don’t say which upscaler or which quality setting it tested with, so treat them as targets rather than promises.

For 1440p at 60fps, S-GAME recommends an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT alongside a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X. If your PC sits somewhere between the two tiers, expect to drop some settings to keep the game smooth, and remember that a stable frame rate matters more in a fast combat game than sharper shadows.

Soul has 66 days, and a whole martial world to cut through

You play as Soul, a warrior framed for murdering his master and left with a fatal wound that gives him 66 days to live, according to the game’s Steam listing. He sets out across the martial world of Wulin to expose the conspiracy behind it, in a setting S-GAME calls “kungfupunk”, where wuxia swordplay meets mechanical prosthetics. The studio lists more than 30 primary weapons and over 20 Phantom Edges, with motion capture and fight choreography from veterans of wuxia cinema.

Buying before launch on Steam adds two small extras, the “Treasure Basin” accessory, which raises the Remnant Dust drop rate by 10%, and the “Legacy” outfit. The Phantom Blade Zero Steam page says both can also be earned in the game, so there’s no reason to rush a pre-order just for them.

Plan the download around your data, not the clock

Launch at 3am suits anyone who preloaded, because the game simply unlocks while you sleep. If you haven’t started downloading yet, a night plan or an unlimited home connection is the sensible way to pull down a file this large, and pausing other downloads and updates on the same network will help it finish sooner. Our guide to getting a steadier connection on MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 covers which line tends to hold up best at the hours you actually play.

The rest of the month’s launches, from “Modern Warfare 4” down, are in our October 2026 game releases guide. If your PC clears the 16GB RAM bar and you can free up 300GB on an SSD tonight, preloading now is the difference between playing on Thursday morning and watching a progress bar over the weekend.
